Cairo and Westover forfeit next boys’ basketball games after brawl

CAIRO, Ga. (WALB) – The Cairo and Westover boys basketball games will have to forfeit their next game after a post-game brawl on Friday, Feb. 2, according to a Cairo basketball post.

The Syrupmakers say the decision was made by the Georgia High School Association (GHSA).

Cairo said they will still have a senior night recognition on Friday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. before the girl’s basketball game.

Both schools are working together on an investigation into the fight.

Westover has yet to post a statement about the GHSA decision.
