Sam Dekker hits clutch 3-pointer to win British Basketball League playoff championship

Tell me if you’ve heard this story before.

Sam Dekker, Sheboygan Lutheran Crusaders and Wisconsin Badgers legend, is open for a 3-pointer as time is ticking down.

Dekker cooly shoots and breaks the hearts of the opposing team, sending his teammates into euphoria.

On Sunday, Dekker did so once again to help the London Lions defeat the Cheshire Phoenix in the British Basketball League playoff final 88-85.

He was named the MVP of the final after scoring 17 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and notching four assists.

Its the second-straight championship for the Lions and Dekker.

Dekker has a history of clutch shooting, including winning the WIAA Division 5 state championships for Sheboygan Lutheran on a 3-pointer against Racine Lutheran in 2012.

Then three years later, as a star for Wisconsin, he drained a 3-pointer to seal a victory over Arizona in the West regional final of the NCAA tournament.

After missing a chunk of the season in England with an injury, Dekker did what Dekker does best, show up when his team needs him.

He was the BBL MVP last season with the Lions.
