The UK should be better prepared for a Third World War. This was stated by the outgoing Chief of Staff of the British Army, patrick sanders, who will resign in the next few days after two years in office. Sanders, interviewed by “The Times” newspaper, said that the Second World War seems like “ancient history” to young people, but that a conflict of this magnitude could “happen again”.

“The only way to prevent the past from repeating itself is to have and train “credible and strong armed forces”, said Sanders, who, when asked if the British Army was credible and prepared, replied: “We are undoubtedly more ready but there is still a lot to do.”
