The former world number one has already done great, but his WGC-Match Play experience is having an impact on his career. Thomas has already proved himself to be great at match-play after playing in the Ryder and Presidents Cup. However, the two-time PGA champion has opted out of the next week’s WGC-Match Play event. The event is scheduled to be held at Austin Country Club and the venue is definitely the reason behind Thomas’ decision to skip the event. While speaking to the press at the Valspar Championship, Thomas expressed his love for Innisbrook while having exactly the opposite feelings toward Austin Country Club.

Thomas said,” [Innisbrook] is a place I love. I really, really love the golf course, I feel like I have a really good chance to win there if I go play. I just, I simply don’t feel that way about Austin Country Club. It’s nothing against the course; I’ve just, I’ve played it six times and I’ve played it really bad five of them.” Considering his experiences at Austin Country Club, Thomas thinks it is a good decision to stay away from the place, having a negative impact on him.

What happens in the future remains to be seen.
