France Women vs England Women Prediction

England Women will look to respond to their defeat to France Women in a rematch of their Euro 2025 qualifying match on Tuesday (8pm, ITV4).

The Lionesses suffered their first loss of their qualifying campaign, going down 2-1 at St James’ Park on Friday night despite taking the lead through Beth Mead.

Les Bleues battled back and left Tyneside with the three points to take command of Group A3, and another victory over Sarina Wiegman’s side would cement their place in Euro 2025.

England will be desperate to improve on their performance and close the gap to France at the top of the standings, but Sweden are also in the mix for the two automatic qualification spots putting pressure on the Lionesses to resolve their issues.

The Panel have cast their eye over this fixture and have made three betting predictions using the best odds from UK betting sites. Here are their tips for the clash at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

France vs England Prediction: Les Bleues To Come Out On Top

France have been a well-oiled machine at the start of their qualifying campaign.

Les Bleues have a 100% record from their three games, and highlighted their impressive form with a comeback win in Newcastle on Friday night. Elise De Almeida and Marie-Antoinette Katoto found the net to put England to the sword as France used set-pieces to great effect.

Herve Renard’s side return to home soil and will be aiming to capitalise on Mary Earps’ injury, with Hannah Hampton poised to deputise after replacing the Manchester United keeper between the posts during the game on Friday.

Les Bleues did have a few scares against the pace of England’s attack, but their home record is imperious to say the least, last tasting defeat in France in 2021 against the United States.

The Lionesses paid the price for their defensive lapses from corners. Wiegman will have been frustrated that her side conceded two relatively cheap goals, while their finishing at the other end was suspect.

England have had major issues against the leading sides in the world since their World Cup final defeat last year.

The Panel are not expecting those woes to ease in Saint-Etienne. Given France’s home record and England’s poor run against elite sides since the World Cup, The Panel like the odds of 5/4 with BetGoodwin for Renard’s team to notch their fourth win in a row.

France vs England Betting: Katoto To Shine Once More

Katoto was on the spot in the penalty area to fire France into the lead last week.

The forward has been in outstanding form for club and country this season. She also scored the only goal of the game in France’s win over the Republic of Ireland in the first match of qualifying, proving how effective she has been in the final third.

The 25-year-old has scored eight goals in her last 11, including her exploits for Paris Saint-Germain.

England will have their work cut out containing Katoto. She is a poacher in the box and France will undoubtedly continue with the same approach of bombarding the England penalty area with crosses into the penalty area.

The Panel believe that could lead to more than a few opportunities for Katoto. Since she has been clinical in front of the net over the last three months, so The Panel are backing Katoto to score any time at 2/1 on betting apps.

France vs England Tips: Look Out For France Corners

France’s two goals on Friday night came from corners, although surprisingly Les Bleues only accrued four corners in total.

However, given their success at exposing England’s shaky defence and Hampton replacing Earps between the posts, The Panel are expecting France to increase their corner count.

The Lionesses also boasted the majority of possession, which may not be the case in the reverse fixture.

There are several corner markets on football betting sites, but The Panel likes the value of the straight shootout between the two sides on who will earn the most corners. Odds of 31/40 are available on BetVictor for the hosts to outscore the Lionesses.
