Fury vs. Usyk live stream, fight card, start time and PPV schedule for 2024 boxing fight | Sporting News United Kingdom

Who will have the clear edge when Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk face off on May 18? The fight to determine the undisputed heavyweight champion will emanate from Saudi Arabia, part of Riyadh Season.

Fury has 24 wins via knockout. “The Gypsy King” has beaten some of the top fighters in the heavyweight divisions, including Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder. The WBC heavyweight champion forced the fight to be delayed twice but is finally ready to determine the first undisputed champion at heavyweight since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

Usyk is a former undisputed cruiserweight champion with 14 wins via knockout. The Ukrainian is new to the heavyweight scene but immediately made an impact by beating Anthony Joshua twice for the IBF, WBA, WBO, and Ring belts. The 37-year-old has competed in and out of the ring, defending his titles and his country against Russian aggression.

The fight is a first for the two. Both are complete opposites regarding skills and resume, but they have one common opponent: Derek Chisora. Fury has faced Chisora three times, going 3-0 against the 40-year-old, their last fight ending in 2022 via TKO. Usyk fought Chisora in 2020, his second fight at heavyweight, and went the distance in a decision win.

Chisora has a smart boxing mind. He assessed their strengths and weaknesses, using his history with the two to determine the one who will leave Saudi Arabia with the ultimate bragging rights.

”I always will back the Brit, and I want the Brit [Fury] to win the fight,” Chisora told talkSPORT. “But I think I am edging it towards Usyk, I think mentality plays a massive part in boxing. Especially in terms of focus, where you are at, and what you want, and I think Fury has achieved so much and been in the spotlight for so long.

“I really like him (Fury), and he’s a great bloke, and I think he under-estimated Francis Ngannou – and I believe some of that may carry over. Both were a complete nightmare in their own right and certainly weren’t a comfortable spar.”
